About the Entertainment & Arts Management Program

The Entertainment & Arts Management Bachelor of Science program at Drexel University provides an immersive learning environment centered on the creative industries, one of the fastest-growing economic sectors in the United States and around the world. The program is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the entertainment and arts management field, combining management and leadership skills with a thorough understanding of art, entertainment, and media. As an Adjunct Faculty member, you will play a crucial role in shaping the next generation of creative leaders, teaching a variety of courses that focus on the history, current practice, and management of creative disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Employ a variety of strategies to foster student development and learning, including assigning timely and provocative readings, podcasts, videos, and other media; case studies; coordinating industry professionals as guest speakers; developing innovative course projects that focus on real-world relevance; and assessing students' progress using graded items like assignments and tests/quizzes.
  • Maintain meaningful engagement with a diverse student population and encourage active learning in all students.
  • Evaluate student work in a timely manner and provide students with feedback as to their progress toward meeting the objectives of the course.
  • Teach required number of credit hours per quarter based on contract, including studio, lecture, and/or practicum courses.
  • Plan and provide instructional experiences that reflect an understanding of the philosophy, objectives, and curriculum of the program.
  • Maintain communication with the program director regarding any course or student issues.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in arts management, cultural policy, entertainment & media management, museum management, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., Master's or Ph.D. in Entertainment & Arts Management, Business, or a related field).
  • Teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level, preferably in a program related to entertainment and arts management.
  • Industry connections and experience in the creative industries, with a strong network of professional contacts.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of the entertainment and arts management industry, including current trends, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Ability to design and deliver engaging and effective courses that meet the needs of a diverse student population.
