Job Overview and Responsibilities
As a Business Development Manager for Cunard Line, you will be responsible for managing the business development (sales) of a defined list of travel agency accounts and consortia throughout the United States and Canada. Your primary objective will be to achieve sales goals for Cunard Line in alignment with the company's business objectives and Cultural Essentials. This role will require you to develop and maintain strong relationships with travel agency accounts, identify new business opportunities, and work closely with our internal teams to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue growth and expand our customer base
- Build and maintain strong relationships with travel agency accounts and consortia
- Conduct market research and analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities
- Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing and operations, to ensure alignment and effective execution of sales strategies
- Provide excellent customer service and support to travel agency accounts and consortia
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and sales reports to track performance and inform business decisions
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in business-to-business (B2B) sales, preferably in the travel industry. You should have excellent communication and presentation skills, both in-person and virtually, as well as strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- 3+ years of B2B sales experience, preferably in the travel industry
- Strong in-person and virtual presentation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong consultative selling skills and ability to build relationships with clients
- Solid computer literacy and ability to learn new systems and technologies
- Ability to plan, schedule, and prioritize workload effectively
- Adaptable to change and able to work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- 5+ years of B2B sales experience in the travel industry
- Experience working with travel agency accounts and consortia
- Knowledge of the cruising industry and Cunard Line's products and services
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
