About the Job and Why You'll Love It

Fleet Service Agents play a crucial role in the treatment of goods on and off aircraft, trucks, containers, and trucks; shipping goods among terminals and aircraft; receiving, conveying, weighing, and reporting of freight in a freight-specific office (warehouse) or a shipping bay area. The agreements of this position are covered by the Transport Workers Union (TWU)/International Association of Machinists (IAM) Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Move goods and freight of various weights to and from aircraft
  • Drive and operate belt loaders
  • Service aircraft at gates with ground power and cooling
  • Tow and pushback aircraft from gates
  • Service aircraft toilets and water ports
  • Clean the interior of aircraft when required
  • Position refreshment and baggage trucks around the ramp area
  • Work outside in various weather conditions
  • Work shifts that include irregular and/or extended hours, weekends, and holidays

What You'll Do (Continued)

In addition to the above responsibilities, you'll also be required to:

  • Report to your assigned station or location on time, as scheduled, and be prepared to work overtime as required
  • Comply with all relevant laws and regulations, including those related to safety, security, and environmental protection
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and performance standards
  • Perform all functions in accordance with safety procedures and policies
  • Wear uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by company policy and regulations
  • Work outside with exposure to extreme weather conditions, engine noise, and toxic fumes

Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need to meet the following qualifications and requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Able to lift, load, unload, and transport bags and freight to/from aircraft, pack trucks, and transport lines
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use software applications
  • People-oriented and highly enthusiastic, with a positive and helpful attitude
  • Good communication skills
  • Valid driver's license as required by local authorities
  • Able to obtain airport authority and/or US Customs security badges, if applicable
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen, comprehensive background check, and/or fingerprinting to meet company and security requirements
  • Able to obtain a fly bridge certification
  • Pass the US Postal Service background check
