Job Summary
The Overall Bet and Consistence Affiliation ("GRC") at American Express is responsible for managing the company's risk-taking and risk organization, including the identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks across the organization. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Risk Management Professional to join our team and contribute to the development and implementation of our risk management strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Screen credit portfolios and manage project-wise credit risk management decisions and collaboration through quantitative assessment
- Work closely with credit risk teams to challenge processes, policies, procedures, models, and organization techniques
- Manage AXP's enterprise risk points of help through consistent monitoring, observing, and testing across processes
- Support AXP's risk management practice and identify emerging risks across the business
- Analyze large datasets using SAS, SQL, R, Python, or other relevant programming languages
- Interpret complex data into actionable terms and communicate findings to stakeholders
- Think critically and influence partners in different, cross-functional teams
- Demonstrate a positive, growth-oriented mindset and a willingness to learn and develop
Essential Qualifications
- Postgraduate education (e.g., MS, Ph.D., MBA) in quantitative fields, such as Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, or Computer Science
- Ability to manage large datasets using SAS, SQL, R, Python, or other relevant programming languages
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders
- Positive, growth-oriented mindset and a willingness to learn and develop
- Project leadership skills, with the ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks
- Demonstrated experience in gathering, maintaining, and utilizing relationships
Preferred Qualifications
- 0-3 years of experience in Risk or related fields, preferably with financial organizations
- Understanding and knowledge of the financial industry
- Experience with data and quantitative analysis
