Job Overview: Part-Time Assistant Teacher
We're seeking a compassionate and creative Part-Time Assistant Teacher to join our team in Huntsville, AL. As an Assistant Teacher, you'll play a vital role in supporting our Lead Teachers and contributing to the success of our center. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, warm, and inviting classroom environment that fosters learning and growth.
- Communicate daily with families regarding student progress, needs, and activities to encourage partnership and support.
- Develop strong professional relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to promote parent and community engagement.
- Maintain a high-quality standard of care by adhering to minimum licensing, quality rated, and/or accreditation guidelines and company standards.
- Prepare and serve meals and snacks for children, ensuring a healthy and nurturing environment.
- Utilize our science-based, proprietary curriculum and suggested supplement activities to create engaging lesson plans tailored to each child's developmental needs.
- Assist with daily records, including attendance, child portfolios, USDA documentation, and other required records.
- Partner with team members and leadership to achieve center goals around enrollment, accreditations, and family engagement.
Essential Qualifications
- Genuine warmth and understanding of the needs of young children and their families.
- Positive attitude and self-image with a commitment to innovation and creativity.
- Strong communication skills with coworkers, parents, and children.
- HS Diploma or GED required.
- Must pass the state-required criminal background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in early childhood education.
- Knowledge of child development principles and practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexibility and adaptability.
