We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Virtual Patient Observation Attendant to join our team on a part-time basis. As a Virtual Patient Observation Attendant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients by observing them via technology under the close supervision and direction of our registered nurses. As a Virtual Patient Observation Attendant, your key responsibilities will include:- Reporting on/off duty to the registered nurses assigned to care for patients
- Receiving specific observation guidelines from the registered nurse for each patient/shift/assignment
- Ensuring a safe environment for the patients, under the direction of a registered nurse
- Remaining in visual contact with patients AT ALL TIMES via designated IT technology platform as directed by the registered nurse
- Identifying self to patients and/or family members or significant others
- Providing virtual continual observation and monitoring of multiple patients at a time using SLUHN designated IT platform
- Reporting behavior changes and patient requests to patient's assigned nurses
Physical and Sensory Requirements
As a Virtual Patient Observation Attendant, you will be required to:- Sit up to 8 hours per day
- Stand for up to 8 hours per day
- Occasionally lift, carry and push objects up to 10 pounds
- Must be able to hear as it relates normal conversation and high/low frequencies
- Must be able to see as it relates to general, near, far, color and peripheral vision
Education and Training
To be considered for this role, you must:- Be a high school graduate or equivalent
- Complete mandatory education and competencies required for position

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic life support certification (BLS)
