Job Overview and Responsibilities
As an Inventory Control Associate, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our inventory management processes. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Dumping and receiving inbound furniture orders, which will require physically moving large, heavy merchandise
- Using scan technology to record accurate container-level data, including condition, quantity, and warehouse location of material
- Proactively monitoring order management systems to ensure that all orders have been received properly and that detailed descriptions are provided for any overage/shortage/damage issues
- Performing regular cycle counts to ensure that inventory is accurate and up-to-date
- Picking and staging deliveries from stock and organizing them by truck and stop number
- Providing direct input to current customer tools and making suggestions for improvements based on your daily experience
- Tracking inventory stock changes and updating reports accordingly
- Working collaboratively with colleagues and supervisors to achieve team goals
- Identifying the most efficient methods for completing assigned tasks and posing questions when necessary
- Performing additional responsibilities as assigned
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. unassisted and move product 150+ lbs. unassisted or through team lift
- Ability to work on a warehouse floor for 8 hours a day or more
- Experience with tracking orders and researching issues
- Comfort with scanning technology
- Stock picker experience or similar heavy equipment operation
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Basic computer knowledge and ability to reconcile physical stock to computer-generated reports
- Ability to perform physical count of inventory
- Past inventory or warehouse experience is preferred
- Experience in distribution or logistics is a plus
- Ability to read and understand English to ensure your safety and the safety of those working around you
