Meet Our Legal Team
Our Legal team is a dynamic and supportive group of 10 solicitors and contract managers, working closely with stakeholders across the university to support innovative projects and partnerships that enhance the student experience. As an Associate General Counsel, you'll join a team that values collaboration, creativity, and a commitment to excellence.About You
What We're Looking For
We're seeking an experienced solicitor with a strong background in employment law, including significant experience of Employment Tribunal litigation. You'll have a keen interest in education law and a willingness to adapt and tackle new challenges in the Higher Education sector. As a key member of our team, you'll be able to work independently, supervise and support colleagues, and contribute to the development of our legal strategy.Key Responsibilities
- Advise on internal investigations, disciplinary and grievance matters, discrimination and equal pay claims, employment status issues, and industrial relations.
- Work with the General Counsel on other contentious disputes, including breach of contract claims and education law issues.
- Supervise and support colleagues, providing guidance and expertise on employment and education law matters.
- Contribute to the development of our legal strategy, working closely with the General Counsel and Employment Solicitor.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in employment and education law, ensuring that our team is equipped to provide expert advice and guidance.
