Position Overview

Smartsheet is a tech company with a human story to tell. We empower teams to manage projects, automate workflows, and build secure solutions using simple no‐code tools. As a Benefit Partner in our growing HR team at a high‑growth SaaS company, you will assist with the administration of benefits and retirement programs—including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, and 401k plans. This remote eligible position allows you to work from anywhere in the US where Smartsheet is registered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead benefit programs, including administration of our 401k plan, flexible spending, reimbursement accounts, and life insurance.
  • Manage international benefit offerings in APAC (Australia and Japan) and Costa Rica, ensuring compliance and proper administration.
  • Perform frequent audits of benefits-related data and maintain accuracy in Workday and other vendor systems.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits enrollments, changes, escalations, and general questions while delivering excellent customer service.
  • Support vendor and broker relationships, collaborating with Procurement and Legal teams for service agreements.
  • Provide project management support for annual benefit activities such as open enrollment, renewals, and plan audits.
  • Report on utilization, cost, and trends for varying levels of leadership.
  • Analyze market trends comparing them to our current offerings to ensure competitiveness.
  • Partner with HR Operations, Payroll, and People Analytics teams to deliver consistent benefits administration.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Human Resources, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent HR experience.
  • 3+ years of benefit experience, with an emphasis on 401k administration and auditing.
  • Familiarity with Google for Work, Smartsheet, and Workday; experience with Costa Rican and Australian benefits is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in audits and overall data management.
  • Experience handling confidential programs with sensitive information.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present to varied levels of leadership.
  • Ability to work independently, adapt to shifting priorities, and collaborate cross functionally with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to deliver excellent results.

  • Compensation: Smartsheet offers a competitive range based on experience, skills, and location. This role is eligible for a market competitive bonus and RSU stock grant. California & New York: $75,600 to $108,000 | All other US States: $70,000 to $100,000.
