Experienced Customer Service Section Chief – Fleet Management and Parts Operations Leadership

Job Summary

The Customer Service Section Chief will be responsible for overseeing customer service supervisors and operations, researching and resolving complex customer problems, and managing the design and development of technical training programs. This role will also involve scheduling and evaluating work assignments, overseeing the installation of equipment, and managing internal collections and administrative hearings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in customer service, administrative management, and fleet management operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee customer service supervisors and operations to ensure exceptional customer experiences
  • Research, analyze, and resolve complex or sensitive customer problems and inquiries through various forms of communication
  • Schedule and evaluate work assignments to ensure efficient and effective operations
  • Oversee the installation of equipment and manage the design, development, and implementation of technical training programs
  • Manage internal collections, gather and interpret data for collection activity, and organize and monitor lists to determine liens to be filed with outside agencies
  • Oversee the scheduling and follow-up activities associated with administrative hearings, including analyzing customer accounts, recommending corrections, and rendering decisions
  • Plan, conduct, and revise audits, create audit reports based on documented findings, and make recommendations for improvement
  • Assist in developing, monitoring budgets, and inventories, and assign and oversee tasks for the merchandising team
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of the fleet management and parts operations teams

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have:

  • A high school diploma or GED
  • Five years of administrative or customer service-related experience
  • Strong knowledge of customer service principles and practices
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team of customer service supervisors and operations staff

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred candidates will have:

  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field, which may be substituted for up to two or four years of experience, respectively
  • Previous knowledge and experience with MS Excel, MS Access, SAP, and Asset Works M5
  • General knowledge of the automotive industry and 18 months of supervisory experience in retail automotive
  • Previous experience performing parts inventory receiving and issuing knowledge
