The CJIS ACE team supports this mission by ensuring the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of criminal justice information systems used by the public safety community. Our CJIS ACE team works directly with criminal justice agencies and their vendors, leveraging decades of experience designing, implementing, and managing CJIS Audit Programs, to help them understand the requirements for securing criminal justice information found in the FBI’s CJIS (Criminal Justice Information Services) Security Policy. About the role CJIS ACE is expanding its team and looking for a full-time IT Auditor to help lead our audit support and compliance initiatives. This is an opportunity to move beyond traditional auditing and become a pivotal resource for agencies nationwide. You will be building strong relationships by communicating directly with clients, answering their most pressing compliance questions, and contributing to the design of secure solutions. Your role will also be hands-on, as you configure and support audit accounts that empower our partners to maintain the highest level of security. As a CJIS IT Auditor, the primary responsibilities include: • Leading state audit projects • Conducting Criminal Justice Agency Audits • Conducting Non-Criminal Justice Agency Audits • Developing project work plans and coordinate audit schedules • Developing and/or updating CJIS IT Audit Questionnaires • Developing state CJIS processes • Updating client CJIS documentation • Communicating with agencies regarding upcoming audits • Supporting local agencies as they complete their audits through calls and emails • Organizing and reading through client documentation to verify compliance • Analyzing a client's existing policies for compliance and areas of improvement • Creating audit and compliance reports for clients Requirements This job might be for you, if you have the following: • 2-4 years of CJIS IT auditing experience • Experience with the CJIS Security Policy • Working knowledge of the NIST 800-53 security framework • Working knowledge of IT Infrastructure and security technologies • Ability to maintain client and data confidentiality • Can confidently pass rigorous fingerprint-based state and federal background screenings, as required by the nationwide agencies we work with (mandatory) • Currently reside in one of these states: FL, GA, IL, KS, KY, MO, NC, NJ, NY, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA • Do not require sponsorship to work in the U.S.; sponsorship is not available for this position Soft Skills: • Analytical and problem-solving skills • Have an interest in making a positive impact on public safety and law enforcement • Are organized, detail-oriented, and tenacious – even when you encounter significant hurdles • Are a team player who enjoys interfacing with numerous departments • Are a confident and professional communicator with excellent written and verbal skills • Are an avid and fast reader • Enjoy thinking through processes and creating flow diagrams • Proven ability to effectively collaborate within a team • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and take initiative Benefits We ask a lot, but we give a lot in return: • Competitive salary with opportunity for commission incentives • Generous coverage options for Medical, Dental, & Vision insurance for you and your family; begins 1st of month after date of hire • Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for health-related expenses • Company sponsored Group Life / AD&D Insurance • Supplemental insurance options: life, AD&D, short and long term disability, accident, critical illness, and hospital indemnity coverage • Up to 3% matching SIMPLE IRA retirement contributions; no vesting schedule • 15 days (3 workweeks) of annually earned PTO, front-loaded for immediate availability; additional days awarded at service milestones starting at 3+ years • 12 paid holidays annually • Paid Maternity/Paternity Leave • Generous paid sick leave • Work / Life balance-centered Flex Scheduling policy • Fully remote & hybrid (office/remote) work opportunities • Reimbursement of approved business-related travel and professional development expenses • Last, but not least, loving your job!
