Our client, EPIC, a top‑ranked U.S. broker and a pioneer in financial services, is expanding its Finance organization and is on the hunt for a data‑driven, procurement‑focused analyst who can turn raw numbers into strategic gold. This is a fully remote, full‑time opportunity with the flexibility to work from anywhere within the Eastern Standard Time zone, and occasional hybrid days in Jersey City or Atlanta as needed.

About EPIC – A Market Leader With a Human Touch

EPIC isn’t just another insurance broker; it’s a dynamic, people‑first firm recognized as #17 on the Top 100 Largest U.S. Brokers list by Business Insurance. With a culture that celebrates diversity in all its forms—thought, background, race, gender, and experience—the company believes that inclusive teams spark the most innovative ideas. EPIC invests heavily in its people, offering robust benefits, continuous learning pathways, and a clear roadmap for professional growth.

What You’ll Do – Core Responsibilities

  • Data Translation & Insight Generation: Partner independently and with cross‑functional stakeholders to convert complex procurement data into clear, actionable insights that drive cost‑reduction strategies and operational efficiencies.
  • Comprehensive Reporting: Extract, clean, and analyze data from accounts payable, travel & expense systems, contracts, supplier databases, and other procurement‑related sources. Deliver regular and ad‑hoc reports that surface trends, anomalies, and opportunities.
  • Dashboard & Visualization Development: Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker. Ensure visualizations are intuitive, real‑time, and tailored to the needs of the Head of Procurement and senior leadership.
  • Data Quality & Governance: Champion data integrity by establishing validation rules, monitoring data veracity, and supporting data‑governance initiatives that align with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Cost‑Saving Identification: Leverage advanced analytics to pinpoint high‑impact cost‑saving opportunities, recommend process improvements, and assist in risk mitigation strategies.
  • Process Design Support: Collaborate with the procurement team to translate analytical findings into actionable process enhancements and system upgrades.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Craft compelling presentations and executive summaries that convey insights with clarity, influencing decision‑making at all organizational levels.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay ahead of emerging data trends, tools, and best practices to enhance data volume, velocity, variety, and veracity within the procurement function.

Day‑to‑Day Activities

  • Aggregate and synthesize data requests from project teams or senior leadership, delivering insights within tight timelines.
  • Integrate multiple data sources—ERP, spend management platforms, and external market data—ensuring consistent accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform root‑cause analysis on procurement challenges, recommending targeted process refinements.
  • Support data‑privacy compliance initiatives, maintaining adherence to GDPR, CCPA, and internal security standards.
  • Develop and update KPI scorecards that track spend, supplier performance, contract compliance, and savings realization.
  • Facilitate regular workshops with procurement partners to review analytical findings and co‑create improvement plans.

Essential Qualifications – What We Need From You

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of hands‑on data‑analysis experience, preferably within procurement, supply‑chain, or finance environments.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or a related discipline. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas, macros), SQL querying, and familiarity with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar).
  • Procurement Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of procurement life‑cycle, sourcing strategies, contract management, and spend analysis.
  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to dissect large datasets, identify patterns, and translate findings into strategic recommendations.
  • Communication Skills: Superior written and verbal communication, confident presentation abilities, and the talent to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
  • Time Management: Proven track record of thriving under pressure, meeting tight deadlines, and juggling multiple priorities simultaneously.

Preferred Add‑Ons – What Sets You Apart

  • Hands‑on experience with procurement platforms such as Ariba, Coupa, Jaggaer, or GEP.
  • Exposure to statistical programming languages (R, Python) for advanced modeling.
  • Certifications like Certified Procurement Analyst (CPA), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), or Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate.
  • Experience with data‑governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA‑DMBoK) and privacy regulations.
  • Prior involvement in global, multi‑region procurement initiatives.

Key Skills & Competencies for Success

  • Critical Thinking: Question assumptions, evaluate alternatives, and arrive at evidence‑based conclusions.
  • Collaboration: Work seamlessly with procurement, finance, IT, and external vendors to achieve shared goals.
  • Detail‑Orientation: Meticulous data validation to ensure reports are trustworthy and actionable.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a fast‑changing environment, embracing new tools and evolving business needs.
  • Strategic Vision: Connect day‑to‑day analytics with long‑term organizational objectives.
