You will be responsible for assisting pharmacists in the exercise of pharmacy, including the performance of other pharmacy branch duties as assigned. You will also be responsible for using pharmacy systems to retrieve patient and drug information, processing prescriptions, and providing a unique and delightful customer experience. **Key Responsibilities** * Assist pharmacists in the exercise of pharmacy, including the performance of other pharmacy branch duties as assigned * Use pharmacy systems to retrieve patient and drug information, process prescriptions, and provide a unique and delightful customer experience * Model and provide a unique and delightful customer experience by engaging customers and patients, resolving customer issues, and sharing customer service best practices with colleagues * Develop strong relationships with most valuable customers by providing exceptional customer service and ensuring that customer needs are met * Perform duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, Personnel Pharmacist, and Store Supervisor, including using pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug records, filling prescriptions, and verifying medication accuracy * Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining work flow, reporting prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty, and adhering to company policies and procedures regarding pharmacy errors and the quality improvement program * Register all related sales on assigned cash register, collect and handle coins as required, and take customers to the OTC aisle to assist in finding merchandise * Handle telephone calls that do not require the personal attention of the pharmacist, including those to physicians * Process (correct and resubmit) claims for third-party prescription services in a timely and efficient manner, and perform other clerical responsibilities as assigned by the Store Manager * Assist and support the Pharmacy Department on stock management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of prescription drugs * Maintain knowledge of company asset safety procedures and document claims for warehouse overages, shortages, order errors, or broken goods related to Rx capsules * May assist pharmacists in administering medical services, including the collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients and other medical services as required * Assist the Pharmacy Supervisor and Personnel Pharmacist in developing and maintaining strong relationships with the local medical community, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers, through clinical provider detailing and outreach to healthcare agencies, retirement homes, nursing homes, and other forums for reinforcing growth opportunities * Assist with outside and inside maintenance by ensuring the pharmacy department is stocked with sufficient supplies, clean, neat, and orderly in appearance and condition **Education & Personal Development** * Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the unique PTCB training program and/or state required certification/registration * Attend training and complete PPLs as requested by the manager and acquire continuing education credits * Maintain expertise and knowledge in healthcare and pharmacy, including latest information and developments * Through completion of the blithequark pharmacy technician apprenticeship program, experience qualifies for 8 (8) college credit hours as recognized by the American Council on Education (ACE) **Basic Qualifications** * Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico) **Preferred Qualifications** * Choose six months of experience in retail settings * Choose to have previous work experience with blithequark * Desire math skills to fill prescriptions accurately, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications * Desire computer skills * Desire knowledge of store inventory management * Prefer PTCB certification **About Working at blithequark** blithequark is proud to invest in and champion an "earn while you learn" Pharmacy Technician training program recognized by ASHP & Department of Labor.
