Experienced Patient Accounts and Customer Services Representative for Virtual Event - Delivering Exceptional Patient Financial Services and Support

Job Summary

The Patient Accounts and Customer Services Representative position is a critical role within our Patient Financial Services department. As a representative, you will be responsible for supporting the reduction of Accounts Receivables, assisting patients with their bills or other financial aspects of their care, and performing a variety of duties including correspondence response, billing and re-billing, and denial issues. You will work under limited supervision to determine liability on patient accounts and collaborate with patients or their representatives to provide financial assistance or secure payment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take actions to support the maximization of collection of balances due or account resolution from all sources, meeting Quality and Productivity expectations
  • Facilitate account resolution by accurately identifying, following up on, or correcting billing errors, lower than expected reimbursement, or denials for correction or resubmission to patients and/or insurance carriers
  • Timely identify, research, and resolve any issues that may cause delays in payment or account resolution, and identify opportunities to improve collections and follow-up activities
  • Work collaboratively across teams, with peers, and revenue cycle departments to achieve common goals and objectives

Essential Qualifications

  • High School diploma required
  • Bilingual - Spanish and English preferred (please indicate on application/resume)
  • 1-2 years of experience in healthcare insurance billing or account follow-up
  • Strong knowledge of Patient Accounting systems
  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to work in a team environment that requires quick turnaround and quality output

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with Medicaid and Charity Care

Scheduling Requirements

  • Full-time position, with rotating schedules: Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm or 8am-4pm; Tuesday-Saturday 10:30am-6:30pm (schedule changes based on business needs)
  • Rotating holidays required
  • Some facilities may allow for a hybrid schedule, to be determined

You will also need to be highly organized, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
