Position Overview

In this critical role, you will be responsible for monitoring delivery schedules, managing time-sensitive information, and ensuring on-time delivery of materials and products to customer locations. As a key member of our logistics team, you will work closely with common carriers, internal stakeholders, and external customers to resolve transportation issues, identify cost savings opportunities, and drive business growth. Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize our Transportation Management System (TMS) to enter and process customer orders, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all transactions.
  • Collaborate with common carriers to ensure on-time deliveries, checking shipment status daily and maintaining strong transportation relationships.
  • Communicate effectively with associates from other shifts, ensuring seamless handovers and continuity of service.
  • Maintain daily logs and checklists, providing updates on shipment status and any issues that may arise.
  • Work closely with customers to resolve transportation issues, providing timely and effective solutions to their logistics needs.
  • Identify cost savings opportunities for customers, analyzing data and implementing process improvements to drive business growth.
  • Participate in other projects and tasks as assigned by your supervisor, contributing to the overall success of the logistics team.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a combination of education, experience, and skills that align with our business needs. These include:

  • At least 1 year of customer service experience, preferably in a logistics or supply chain management environment.
  • A Bachelor's Degree or some college preferred, with a High School Diploma or equivalent necessary.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Excel and Outlook, with the ability to learn and operate multiple company and customer-owned transportation systems and applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment and prioritize time-sensitive situations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Flexibility with scheduling, including the ability to work first, second, and third shifts as needed, with regular, predictable, full attendance an essential function of the job.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, and complete any necessary training or certifications.
