This position will be part of the Salesforce Center of Excellence team, which delivers a full suite of services to state agencies, boards, councils, and commissions, and many central services to local government partners.
The Salesforce Administrator exists to analyze, design, develop, document, support, maintain and enhance complex and large-scale business applications that leverage the Salesforce application, platform and related add-on or third-party applications. The incumbent will work closely with Business Analysts, Subject Matter Experts, other Salesforce administrators, and all product team members to deliver Salesforce applications that address documented business requirements and operate within design specifications. The incumbent will be responsible for understanding business problems and designing solutions on an enterprise product platform (via declarative tools). This Salesforce Administrator looks at business requirements and interprets how to best apply the out of the box product to provide a solution, including finding alternative approaches that best leverage the platform. Salesforce Administrators most often use Agile techniques and are a part of a larger, cross-functional team. Salesforce Specialists should have a passion for learning new platform capabilities and clouds to stay on top of the ever-growing product ecosystem.
This position requires an employee to be onsite at 180 E. 5th Street, Suite 110, St. Paul, Minnesota at least 50% of the time, with some opportunity to perform work from a telework location. Telework for Minnesota IT Services is available on a limited basis. Employees will be required to meet current telework eligibility requirements.
Minimum Qualifications

Position requires a minimum of four (4) years of IT related experience in performing Salesforce Management functions.
Experience must include:
• Experience in analyze, design, develop, document, support, maintain and enhance complex and large-scale business applications that leverage the Salesforce application, platform and related add-on or third-party applications
• Experience across the full application lifecycle in Salesforce, including requirements gathering, configuration, customization, testing, deployment, documentation, and ongoing support.
• Experience with automation (flow development) APIs visual force pages and lightning components.
• Experience in Salesforce administration, application development, information management, databases, and security for highly complex projects.
• Experience with industry-standard application development methodologies and a solid understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) principles, and release management.
• Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.
• Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.
A master’s degree in information technology or an IT related field substitutes for three (3) years of experience, OR an IT related bachelor’s degree substitutes for two (2) years, OR an IT related associate’s degree substitutes for one (1) year.
Preferred Qualifications
• Certified as a Salesforce Administrator; certifications in Salesforce Advanced Administrator and Salesforce Platform App Builder are a plus.
• Advanced technical experience as a Salesforce Administrator, with a proven track record of developing and maintaining complex business applications, preferably in a government setting.
• Proficiency in Salesforce configuration, including but not limited to, custom objects, fields, formulas, flows, validation rules, and Salesforce security as well as experience with data import, export, and manipulation using Salesforce data tools (Data Loader, Import Wizard, Salesforce Shield and Public Sector Solutions).
• Experience in Salesforce administration, application development, information management, databases, report generation and security for highly complex and large-scale projects.
• Ability to manage details of highly complex and large-scale projects involving large data sets stored in a variety of environments and be able to set priorities among multiple demands under tight time constraints and external pressure.
• Experience conducting technical walkthroughs focused on optimization, diagnostics, and issue resolution as well as conducting peer code reviews focused on knowledge transfer and skill building and strong organizational and time management skills that can be applied to team development situations as well as strong conflict resolution and consensus building skills are critical.
• Experience with third-party packages such as S-Docs, OwnBackup (Salesforce Backup) S: Drive
• Experience with Salesforce SSO, Entra Salesforce email relay and Akamai.
