Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to inbound calls from patients, addressing their billing questions and concerns in a professional and courteous manner
  • Effectively communicate with patients to resolve billing issues, providing clear explanations and solutions
  • Send issues to the Accounts Receivable (AR) Team for further assistance, ensuring timely resolution
  • Take payments and set up payment plans, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with financial policies
  • Build rapport with patients, presenting the Business Office, clinic, physician, and other stakeholders in a positive and respectful light
  • Maintain professional and respectful relationships with patients, referring complex or sensitive issues to team leads or managers as needed
  • Review accounts with outstanding balances or incorrect balances, utilizing problem-solving skills to resolve issues in a timely manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the team and the organization

Work Schedule

The hours for this position are 11:00 AM-7:30 PM EST, Monday through Friday. As a remote worker, you will be required to have a quiet, HIPAA-compliant area with no distractions, ensuring confidentiality and focus throughout your working hours.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School diploma or equivalent experience
  • Call Center experience and/or medical billing experience is highly desirable
  • Experience in the healthcare industry is preferred, with a strong understanding of medical terminology and billing practices
  • Exceptional communication skills, including oral, written, and presentation abilities
  • Active listening, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Self-motivation, with the ability to stay on task and be available for routine check-ins
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, with the ability to learn new systems and technologies
