JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Schuylkill is seeking a Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor in Radiological Sciences depending on experience and qualifications to function as Clinical Coordinator for the Radiological Sciences Associate Degree Program. Open Rank, multi-year appointment, 2 years with the option for renewal, 48 weeks to begin December 2023, or as negotiated.

The successful candidate will be joining a program that maintains strong clinical partnerships and student relationships and facilitates high levels of student success; the 5-year average first-attempt ARRT exam pass rate is 92% and the 5-year average job placement rate is 100%. Specific responsibilities will include teaching Patient Care, Medical Terminology, Radiation Biology and Protection, Radiographic Pathology, assisting with a Registry Review course, and other courses based on program needs.

This person oversees all the clinical activities of the students and is responsible for all clinical courses which includes travel to all clinical sites to perform clinical activities and conferences. This position will oversee clinical placements and serve as the program liaison to the clinical sites. Additional responsibilities include participating in all program meetings, contributing to the program assessment and accreditation process, and communicating and collaborating regularly with clinical instructors and program faculty for ongoing program effectiveness and student success.

Teaching assignments may require teaching day, evening, and/or Saturday classes as needed.

In addition to teaching, responsibilities include advising students, participating in committees, and other service and scholarly activities as appropriate and may include serving as the advisor for the Radiography Club on campus.

There is an expectation that the faculty member will maintain currency in the discipline through research, scholarship, and/or quality improvement initiatives that benefit the campus, the college, the university, our students, and the community and will also provide service to the campus, discipline, and society.

Education & Qualifications:

Applicants must hold a master?s degree or doctorate.

Be proficient in curriculum development, supervision, instruction, and evaluation.

Have two years of clinical experience in the professional discipline and hold a current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and registration in radiography.
