Job description: Summary
The Alternative Licensure Program Supervisor will conduct weekly in-person observations of Alternative Licensure candidates engaged in teaching and provide formal written and verbal feedback. Following the observations, the supervisor will facilitate conferences (in person or electronic) providing the candidate feedback regarding strengths as well as areas for further development. In addition, the Alternative Licensure Program Supervisor will use a weekly observation form to provide a written summary to guide candidates in reflecting on practice and self-assessment against the Danielson observation model. The Supervisor will review the candidates' weekly lesson plans, reflections, and instructional schedule as well as collaborate with the school principal in the evaluation of candidates.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct weekly in-person observations that will include follow-up feedback conversations (online or electronic)
- Provide written, evidence-based feedback on formal observations using the Danielson evaluation rubric
- Preferred: Retired principals with evidence of completion of online Danielson Training Modules or Classroom Training Session (Section 24A-3 of the School Code [105 ILCS5/24A-3]--Proficiency Assessment Certificate of Completion). Will consider candidate willing to complete the training
- Minimum of four years of teaching experience in PreK - Grade 2; Grades 1-6; Grades 5-8; or Grades 9-12
- Experience with observation tools, conferencing techniques, and effective feedback models
- Current Illinois Professional Educators License (PEL) preferred.
