Required Qualifications



Evaluation of the following requirements will be made through descriptions of work experience, educational experiences, and teaching/tutoring interest in cover letter; record of relevant accomplishments and productivity addressed in one page resume; and overall GPA and letter grade obtained in specified class. The required qualifications are:

1. Must have taken the specified course or an equivalent class and earned at least a 'B' in the course.

2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 3. Demonstrated mastery of course content.

4. The job requires physical or virtual presence in the course (approx. 3 hours/week for a 3-credit course) and may demand approx. 2 hours/week outside of the class.

The following is used on all student postings:

**During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: 1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or 2) be pre-enrolled in upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or 3) be enrolled in summer session or 4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).

Position Overview



School of Engineering Undergraduate Teaching Fellows (UGTFs) at the University of Kansas will support faculty instructors with active student engagement in undergraduate engineering courses. Undergraduate Teaching Fellows will guide student learning by interacting with students in remote and/or in-person format(s) as students work through problems sets or other activities. Unlike Teaching Assistants and Graders, this position does not involve grading assignments or maintaining typical office hours, however, time outside the regular class periods will be required to meet with the instructor and possibly to facilitate help sessions. The School of Engineering is looking for applicants to fill a number of core courses in each of the engineering disciplines.
