JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Erie, The Behrend College (Penn State Behrend), invites applicants for a non-tenure teaching position in Mechanical Engineering starting Spring term (January) or Fall term of 2024. This position will support the Mechanical Engineering and the Mechanical Engineering Technology programs. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team of educators and researchers in nationally recognized programs with access to world class facilities. The successful candidate should be committed to undergraduate education, while supporting research and service to the university and community. This position will focus on the education of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for our students, through course work and research opportunities. FEA software currently used at Behrend include Ansys, Autodesk, Solidworks, and plastic specific software Moldflow and Moldex3D. Additional teaching opportunities could be with Behrend?s Community and Workforce Development office. Previous industrial experience is positively considered.

Teaching and research at Behrend is integrated into the student learning experience through our Open Lab model where learning and discovery are applied to solve problems defined in partnership with industry and government. The selected candidate is expected to work in a collaborative environment and support FE analysis and modeling in ongoing research programs. A MS in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or closely related field is required by appointment start date.
