The role.

Position Overview:

Innomotics is looking for a multifaceted professional to support the Sales Controlling organization for the Motors and Drives businesses. The position develops, reviews, and negotiates the commercial aspects of bid requests, contracts, and outgoing proposals to customers in the United States with the objective to enhance EBIT and cash flow, ensure adherence to PM@Siemens guidelines while achieving strategic business objectives. This role interacts directly with external customers and internal stakeholders such as Operations Engineering Center (OEC), Customer Service, legal, sales, product management, procurement, logistics, Project Management Office, and finance in the U.S.. The role aligns targets, short and mid-term plans with regional management, operations, and finance.

The position reports disciplinarily to the US Motors and Drives Performance Controller and functionally to the US Motors and Drives Sales Controller. It is a remote position.

Your profile.

Responsibilities:
  • Support of Bid, Proposal and Change Order Processes for Drives, Motors, Systems and Operations Engineering Center activities.
  • Coordination of internal bid approval, ensure commercial adherence to PM@Siemens guidelines, approval authority matrixes and final client proposal creation.
  • Work closely with sales team to develop bid strategies and help lead resources to complete bids in a timely manner.
  • Review plans and specifications to convey project requirements, facilitate document reviews and assist with budgetary bid exercises.
  • Contract review and constructive negotiation with customers to yield mutually agreed terms and conditions for each proposal.
  • Align sales, engineering, operations, finance, and senior management to effectively progress bids from receipt to internal approval onto final client delivery.
  • Develops, aligns, and implements proposals to align with vertical market and other business strategies (i.e., UP2025, Stewards of the Business) cross-functionally.
  • Proven negotiation and analytical skills, with ability to apply problem solving techniques, creativity, and critical thinking to strive to a successful bid award as well as identify internal continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, take ownership of issues and collaborate with /consult with peers and others outside of functional area to resolve sophisticated issues and improve existing processes.
  • Demonstrated understanding of basic accounting, finance, and legal contract principles.
  • All activities & associated supplemental changes to contracts over the term of the contract.
  • Contract renewal, extensions, and change orders.
  • Contract inquiries from both internal and external customers.
  • Annual price increases.
  • Review and resolution of customer pricing and contractual term disputes.
  • Evaluating quotes submitted by the Sales team to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies, pricing guidelines, and customer requirements.Verifying the pricing details, discounts, promotions, and any special terms mentioned in Sales quotes to ensure they align with approved pricing structures and contracts.
  • Collaborating with the Sales team to provide feedback and mentorship on improving quote quality, addressing errors or inconsistencies, and clarifying customer requirements.
  • Tracking of ?stewards of the business? initiatives and 3rd party rep commissions.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves sophisticated problems within multi-departments and/or cross functional areas in international environment.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor?s Degree is required.
  • Experience: At least 3+ years working in sales interfacing, contract review or legal role with fundamental financial and accounting involvement.
  • Travel: Up to 15% to North American Operational sites and Customers in North America.
Skills:
  • Strong negotiation, organizational skills and attention to detail are critical.
  • Financial competence and demonstrated ability to identify and resolve sophisticated problems and apply problem-solving skills effectively is needed. Ability to operate independently, make decisions and recommendations to resolve issues is important.
  • Exhibit understanding of contract language and navigating sophisticated (multinational/multiple entity) nexus? of both the customer and the supply side of proposals.
  • Must be able to multi-task, prioritize workflow, perform under sensitive deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal Communication skills on senior management and executive level - including expertise in presentations
  • Collaboration with global Headquarter function in target alignment, definition and implementation of PM@Siemens Sales Phase strategies and function excellence.
  • Demonstrates and applies sophisticated knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures for area handled and authoritative knowledge of other areas in the company and how they interact.
  • Proven track record to align with business partners on objectives and priorities as well as collaborates cross-functionally for implementation
  • Experience with digitalization, business process improvement, or similar functions.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:
  • Experience in review of sophisticated contracts and legal documents
  • Exposure to direct customer interactions and negotiations of bids
  • Knowledge of PM@Siemens LOA Processes
The pay range for this position is $71,300 - $122,300. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
