Our Personal Line Product Management team is currently seeking a VP, Data & Analytics in our Worcester, MA office (hyrbid/flex) or remote work arrangment.
This is a full time, exempt.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
In partnership with PL Senior Leadership team, provides strategic oversight and delivery of Data Science and Data Analytic services to all PL functional teams. Develops high-level strategy formulation and oversees creation and implementation of PL business data, advanced analytics and statistical methods to provide insight into business performance and suggest area and methods of improving operations.
Oversees creation and implementation of analytical approaches and methodologies. Drives creation and adoption of predictive models for marketing, underwriting and rating through implementation. Controls and develops internal/external information sources for business analysis and owns the data governance of business information. Ensures that project milestones and goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.
Responsible for Data Science and Data Analytics staff within PL ensuring appropriate integration across the enterprise.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
Work with business and technology partners on high-level strategy formulation, develops corresponding mid- level strategies and oversees creation and implementation of information and models. Provides strategic leadership in creating and implementing programs/projects/processes.
Provides leadership and oversight of the delivery of high impact/complex projects. Establishes strategy for division/business unit within corporate strategic initiatives. Integrates functional strategies and develops specific objectives for the sub-function and develops policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. Decisions directly impact the success of the function in meeting key organizational goals.
Responsibilities also include but are not limited to:
? Partner with leadership on the development of key initiatives and analytical needs.
? Lead the strategy, development and implementation of programs and processes that drive data, advanced analytics and performance management strategy
? Lead data strategy formulation with direct oversight of data governance, data analysis and reporting
? Establish and implement governance practices that ensure data integrity and accuracy
? Perform as an enterprise integrator between department and technology teams in the development of technology systems, data needs and other long-term initiatives
? Collaborate with subject matter experts and various systems groups to define requirements and create analytics and reporting infrastructure
? Research, analyze and define requirements from key stakeholders on new analytics models, platforms and technologies to significantly improve operational efficiency, effectiveness, and improve customer experience
? Approves models and methods applied within unit.
? Responsible for directing continuous improvements of operations and managing unanticipated situations.
? Stay current on evolving technology and advanced analytics practices making recommendations for adoption as needed Prioritize ad hoc analytics requests and delegate or execute as required
? Where appropriate provide automated process solutions to enhance operational efficiencies
? Leads all talent engagement, performance management and compensation management for team comprised of mix of data engineers, data analysts and data scientists
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:
? Master's degree or higher in a relevant technical field (Mathematics, Computational Statistics, Machine Learning, Computer Science or other related technical fields).
? 10+ years of experience in a related field
? Has 4+ years of experience in a supervisory capacity
? Experience in projects involving large-scale multi-dimensional databases, complex business infrastructure, and cross-functional teams.
? Strong understanding/experience developing advanced business and operational analysis and machine learning algorithms (regression, random forest, clustering, etc.) using relevant programming languages
? Effective problem solver who anticipates issues, seeks out, and analyzes information collaboratively to propose solutions
? Strong people management skills and effective at coaching and motivating staff Ability to multi-task on multiple critical deliverables
? Develops working relationships and interacts effectively with all necessary levels of the organization
? Ability to influence skillfully in difficult situations
? Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to concisely present and communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences
? Easily adapts to new or different changing situations requirements or priorities
? Cultivates an environment of teamwork and collaboration that embraces diversity and inclusion
