Job description: The mission of the Hasan School of Business (HSB) is to provide quality undergraduate and graduate business education for a diverse student population through our strong professional focus on contemporary business practices. Our educational programs prepare our students to assume team member and leadership roles in business by:


  • Developing their skills in communication and critical thinking, and

  • Instilling in them awareness of the global economy and ethical behavior.

The person who fills this position will:



Advise continuing students in all business disciplines.



Meet with and advise prospective freshman and transfer students.



Promote and recruit for the program and answer questions about all undergraduate programs in the HSB.



Maintain up-to-date files on all students with each interaction clearly updated in the file.



Monitor student academic performance, and



Coordinate the in-house tutoring program for business courses.



Primary Duties



Advises, helps students register, and works through enrollment issues with all HSB undergraduate students (prospective, freshman, continuing and transfer) via phone, video conferencing, email and face-to-face interactions, including students from the Sturm and Colorado Springs campuses as well as other remote students.



Directs the in-house tutoring program. Hires and trains tutors, matches tutors to students and accounts for all hours each month. Maintains ethical practices in tutoring program.



Maintains accurate records of all students, updates course grade performance and grade changes, and notes special instructions/discussions to the file.



Assists with special events (i.e. awards banquet and Fiesta with Faculty), special calling projects with new and prospective students and other projects that arise to support the mission of HSB.



Recruits and promotes the HSB through special outreach events, community college days, and assists in the recruitment of athletes. Ancillary Duties

  • Serves on HSB and university committees as required.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Salary Range

$45,000 - $49,000Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university

  • Excellent communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail

  • Knowledge of federal educational policies (i.e. FERPA, etc.) and university policies such as articulation agreements, transfer evaluations, and degree requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to engage and work with diverse populations and constituencies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an accredited university

  • Ability to present information in both individual and group settings

  • Ability to produce work using internet search engines and software applications such as spreadsheets and databases

  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings/weekends for events and activities

  • Experience as a student advisor at CSU Pueblo
