Summary of Job Duties: This is a 9-month, full-time non-tenure track position with the possibility of summer teaching for summer pay (i.e., extra pay). The Teaching Assistant Professor of Recreation and Sport Management will teach undergraduate and graduate courses (typical load is four 3-credit hour each semester); mentor undergraduate and graduate students as needed; serve on master thesis and dissertation committees, and provide service to the department, college, university, community, and profession.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Earned Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Recreation and Sport Management or related field from an accredited institution of higher education conferred by start of employment

Evidence or promise of highly effective teaching.

Evidence or potential of service to the department, institution, and profession.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in field of Recreation and Sport Management or related field

Experience of teaching courses at the university level

Evidence of effective student mentoring/advising

Experience or interest in the scholarship of teaching and learning

Experience teaching at the graduate level

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):

Excellent organizational skills

Strong Communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to learn and adapt
