The Director, Technology Expense Management is responsible for leading expense related areas within the Information Technology (IT) department. This includes management of IT asset inventory, telecom expense management, software licensing management, procurement, purchase orders, invoice payments and budgeting related to these items.

Responsibilities:
  • Expense Management: Oversee the end-to-end IT cost control process, including telecom expenses, cloud services, software licensing, hardware purchases, and vendor contracts. Monitor and analyze IT spending trends, identify cost-saving opportunities, and recommend actions to optimize expenditure without compromising service quality. Establish cost benchmarks and performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of expense management initiatives.
  • Financial Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive IT financial strategies aligned with the organization's overall goals and objectives. Collaborate with senior management to define and manage yearly IT budgets, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
  • Vendor Management and Negotiation: Manage relationships with IT vendors, negotiate contracts, and ensure the best terms, conditions, and pricing. Regularly assess vendor performance and contract compliance to ensure maximum value from service agreements.
  • IT Asset Management: Lead the IT asset management process, including hardware and software inventories, tracking, and disposal. Implement asset lifecycle management practices to ensure optimal utilization of IT resources and minimize wastage.
  • Invoice Processing and Payment: Oversee the timely and accurate processing of IT-related invoices, ensuring adherence to payment schedules and budget allocation. Address discrepancies and billing issues, liaising with vendors and finance teams as necessary.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Generate and present periodic financial reports to senior management, highlighting key financial metrics, budget adherence, and cost-saving accomplishments. Conduct financial analyses to support decision-making, forecasting, and resource allocation.
  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and audit requirements related to IT expenses and budget management.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Technology or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in asset or telecom expense management.
  • Proven experience in IT financial management, expense control, and budgeting within a large-scale organization.
  • Leadership experience, with a track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of IT procurement processes, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
  • Familiarity with IT asset management principles and best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data, identify patterns, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis tools, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong staffing, development, and appraisal skills.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to take prudent risks.
  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels.
  • Strong customer, quality, and results orientation.
  • Ability to be an effective member of project teams.

For positions that are permitted or required to work remotely, employees may conduct work only within the United States and only in states where the Company is already conducting business, unless for brief periods, consistent with Company policy.

In the states of Colorado, California and Washington, the anticipated pay range/scale for this position is $114,720 to $143,400. Actual starting base pay within this range will depend on factors including geographic location, education, training, skills, and relevant experience.
  • Position is also eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
Employees also have the opportunity to participate in medical, dental and vision insurance; flexible spending accounts and/or health savings accounts; dependent savings accounts; 401(k) with company matching contributions; employee stock purchase plan; and, a tuition reimbursement program. The Company provides 9 paid holidays per year and, upon hire, new employees will accrue paid time off (PTO) at a rate of 0.0577 hours of PTO per hour worked, up to a maximum of 120 hours per year.
