We're looking for a Senior Manager of cloud engineering services to join our ranks! In this role, you will be responsible for leading the Cloud Engineering team to define and develop innovative technology solutions for the Cloud. As a team, Cloud Engineering is responsible for powering Commonwealth's mission of migrating applications and workloads to Public Cloud. You will use your strong business acumen and organizational skills to develop the technical roadmap for all Public Cloud services, as well as drive the implementation of value-added solutions. In this role, you will direct the Identity and access management, Cloud infrastructure, Cloud operations, and Cloud networking functions. Your experience managing Cloud and software engineering teams, as well as your proven track record of delivering leading-edge technology infrastructure, is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Working across Azure and AWS to define and develop the long-range technology roadmap for our clients and the system's architecture requirements
- Managing, growing, and mentoring an outstanding engineering team
- Overseeing the actions of Cloud transformation to ensure that the mission, strategy, and processes align with IT strategy.
- Designing and implementing a broad array of Azure and AWS services
- Building out hybrid Cloud environments and leading large migrations
- Delivering operational excellence; focusing on the service management and DevOps approach to achieve agility, scale, and efficiency.
- Setting Azure and AWS architectural standards and designing automation for Cloud infrastructure (Infrastructure as Code); working with our technology partners to design best-in-class Cloud system implementations.
- Ensuring that security policy, compliance requirements, and Azure/AWS best practices are implemented across all projects
- Attracting, retaining, and developing highly effective professionals and support staff
- Partnering with security and application teams to ensure that infrastructure is secure and meets the company's needs
- Experience with building scalable Cloud infrastructure and processes
- Expert in Cloud Operations with a proven track record of hiring, coaching, and retaining team members
- Experience in CI/CD and applying the DevOps mindset and principles
- Experience with Kubernetes and Docker
- Experience in systems operations management and maintaining environments for enterprise applications
- Proven experience in collaborating with cross-functional business units
- Experience managing Cloud platform spending through metrics and reporting
- Experience educating stakeholders on the impact of Cloud configuration decisions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or comparable field
- 7+ years of experience as a department Manager or senior leadership role
- 10+ years of experience leading engineering teams
- 5+ years leading Azure/AWS Cloud Engineering teams.
- 3+ years leading Azure/AWS migration.
- Strong ability to multitask and manage multiple projects.
