The Senior Staff Data Steward is responsible for supporting and advancing data leverage by implementing and managing data governance framework components and tools for the ingestion, transformation, and storage, and access of data assets. This position will be part of the Data Engineering team and will bring strong quantitative skills to the team. In this position you will become an expert in datasets you manage and train business data stewards how to implement the data governance framework components on their datasets. You will be engaged on projects that will ultimately use the data for various analytics techniques, such as optimization, forecasting, machine learning, predictive maintenance, visualization, and AI to develop solutions that help deliver significant value to internal & external customers.

Technical Responsibilities
- Leads the consistent use of customer facing data resources across the organization.
- Collaborates with data privacy and security teams to ensure worldwide data laws are being followed.
- Define and manage the data assets from point of care devices and health system partnerships.
- Manage data integrity studies, including optimization studies and performance assessments.
- Apply and mentor others on advanced data governance theories, principles, and concepts.
- Maintain the quality and trust of data provided to our internal and external customers, coordinating corrections when needed.
- Monitor data usage to assist teams and share best practices in data use.
- Identify and act upon opportunities to improve the system process flow, cost, performance, and technical efficiencies.
- Continuously seek out industry best practices and develop skills to create new capabilities for data governance.
- Educate employees on best practices and new technology around data governance.
- Contribute and execute customer facing activities like voice of customer in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify and support business needs and recommend holistic solutions that integrate with existing data and technical solutions.
- Work cooperatively with all stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Hold self and others accountable to deliver high quality results with passion, energy, and drive to meet business priorities.
- Collaborate and influence others on cross functional teams advancing partnerships to achieve business objectives.
Must Haves:
- 6+ years of experience & Bachelor?s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Bioinformatics, or related fields
- Azure Data Engineer Associate is a plus
- Minimum 6 years of experience in implementing and building data governance tools and platforms within cloud-based environments on Azure(preferred), AWS, and Snowflake
- Advanced knowledge of data cataloging, lineage, and semi-structured/unstructured data stores
- Advanced knowledge and proficiency in a data governance tool such as Purview, Alation, Collibra, etc.
- Knowledge and proficiency in data engineering tools/languages such Python, SQL (T-SQL, PL/SQL, Spark SQL), Azure Data Factory, Databricks
- Experience in software development environments using Agile / SCRUM, and code management/versioning
- Ability to communicate complex plans and technical information to team members
- Strong problem-solving & analytical skills
- Experience with Jira and Confluence.
- Ability to understand complex and ambiguous business needs
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
