The MVHS Group at Leidos currently has an opening for a Specialty Consultant in support of military families. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience supporting the Military OneSource mission. The Military OneSource Program provides 24/7 support services for military members and their families, similar to a commercial Employee Assistance Program (EAP). This program provides a broad array of information, resources, education, referrals, and counseling to about 4.7 million participants which includes military service members, their families, and eligible civilians at locations worldwide. The Military OneSource program serves as a ?one source? for resource and information encompassing a comprehensive support system.
The Specialty Consultant specializes in providing information and referrals on specialized DoD programs directly impacting military members and their families lives. They are responsible for providing personalized, tailored assistance and referral services to program participants. This position provides expert consultation to address core areas to support service members and their families to live their best MilLife. Consultation areas include special needs and the Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP), support for transitioning Veterans, relocation and transition services, building healthy relationships- partner and family relationships, new parent assistance and education, and peer-to-peer support for both service members and spouses. Consultants may support the Military OneSource Wounded Warrior program based on qualifications and experience. Candidates shall possess strong customer service skills, knowledge of call center operations, and knowledge and understanding of military life as well as maintain the highest degree of confidentiality, sensitivity, compassion, and respect for service members and their families. Some evening and weekend appointments may be necessary to meet the needs of the military community.

Primary Responsibilities
Specialty Consultant may be assigned to one or more specialty consultation programs based on their experience, expertise, education, and background.
Provide psychoeducational, virtual support, and specialty consultation services to eligible participants seeking to speak with an individual possessing the experience, knowledge, training, tools, and resources to assist the participant.
Navigate resources, resolves complex concerns, assesses, and acts in crisis situations.
Identify high risk cases, deescalate with professionalism, and make referrals as appropriate.
Document cases according to program guidelines.
Document cases into the system.
Perform follow up calls and reporting as necessary.
Monitor research, referrals, and additional materials sent to users/customers.
Maintain internal and contractual training requirements.
May perform other duties and special projects, based on business need.

Basic Qualifications
Master?s degree from an accredited graduate program in a behavioral health related field such as social work, psychology, marriage/family therapy, or counseling OR a Master?s degree from an accredited graduate program in a related discipline PLUS at least 4 years of appropriate experience that demonstrates acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a social work, psychology, marriage/family therapy, or counseling major.
Ability to use telephonic and video-based platforms to meet contract performance requirements.
Possess strong customer service skills, knowledge of call center operations, and knowledge and understanding of military lifestyle and culture.
Possess experience, preferably supporting the military community, to demonstrate expertise in one or more of the following specialty areas:
Adoption: help Service members with their specific adoption needs. Consultants will also provide adoption agency information, support groups and general literature on adoption
Adult disability care: connect Service members with information and resources related to adult disability care
Education: provide members with referrals to in-home tutors and tutoring centers in the area, as well as public and private school information, college profiles based on desired degree and specific requests, financial assistance, and scholarship and grant program referrals
Elder care: provide support by connecting the military family?s loved one with senior resources in their community and/or provide guidance on what to consider before parents or older relatives need long-term care
Health and wellness coaching: support Service members and their families in achieving their health and wellness goals to include weight management, fitness, nutrition, stress management, life transitions, and more
Peer-to-peer: All peer-to-peer support consultants are veterans, current members of the National Guard or reserves, or military spouses to assist with referrals to meet identified needs
Special needs: assist families in addressing questions and concerns regarding the care and education of a family member with special needs ? both children and adults
Wounded warrior: provide immediate assistance to wounded, ill, injured, and recovering Service members and their families, as well as wounded warrior caregivers, and provide immediate assistance to wounded, ill, injured and recovering Service members and their families, as well as wounded warrior caregivers
Spouse relocation and transition: help military spouses navigate moving and transition related challenges creating individualized action plans and identify resources that may include information on housing, child care, education, work-life referrals, health and wellness coaching, non-medical counseling services and more
Proven proficiency in Microsoft based tools including word, outlook, excel; Web based research; electronic documentation systems
Must be U.S. citizens and the ability to speak fluent English.
Military spouse or former Service member is required for some consultation programs (i.e., peer-to-peer specialty consultant).
Pass a criminal history and fingerprint background checks, and credential review/verification.
Preferred Qualifications
Fluency in Spanish
Veteran/military retiree, wounded warrior, and/or military spouse.
Experience working with and/or for military communities
Employee assistance program (EAP) experience
Pay Range: Pay Range $46,800.00 - $84,600.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
