POSITION PURPOSE: Information Technology Services (ITS) is CSU Bakersfield's central IT organization, providing computing, infrastructure, telecommunications and support for the teaching, learning, research, business, and outreach activities of the University. The Digital Transformation unit is responsible for development of efficient and effective online solutions that transform the way our campus does business.

Under the direct to general supervision of the Director of Enterprise Applications, the incumbent will be responsible for providing business analysis, consulting, design, and development of forms and workflow for the campus. In addition, the incumbent will also provide interface development and support for various systems and develop integrations needed to drive online forms.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Online Forms & Workflow Development
  • Design, develop, and maintain online forms and workflow solutions using relevant platforms and technologies.
  • Monitor the performance of online forms and workflows, gather data on usage, and generate periodic reports.
  • Analyze key metrics to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of implemented solutions.
  • Customize forms and workflows based on business requirements to ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and analyze current processes. Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, propose solutions, and lead process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and user experience.
  • Build forms and workflows to support various routing hierarchies and approval processes.
  • Develop and configure responsive online forms that integrate with backend systems.
  • Build reports and maintain dashboards allowing campus constituents to see their forms and where in the workflow those forms reside.
  • Provide training on the platform and how to bring others into the form and workflow building process.
  • Adhere to university policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements related to data privacy and security.
  • Implement data validation measures to maintain the security and integrity of collected information.
Implement Process Automation & Integration
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and integration with existing systems.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate tools and techniques to streamline data flows and reduce manual interventions.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity during the automation and integration processes.
System Administration
  • Administer online workflow and integration system.
  • Install and configure software applications. Set up user accounts. Monitor system performance and troubleshoot with new version releases. Generate reports for security review and audit.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE -

Foundation Level - Bachelor's degree in a related field with relevant training. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Career level - Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of two (2) years (within 5 years) of full-time equivalent experience as an analyst or programmer or other analytical experience related to the position. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

LICENSES - Possession of a valid driver's license or the ability to obtain by date of hire.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or computer information systems.
  • Experience building forms and workflows with Adobe Sign.
  • Experience building forms and workflows using no-code development tool such as Kuali Build.
  • Experience with Peoplesoft Campus Solutions.
  • Experience with Hyland OnBase.
  • Demonstrated skills in an institutional/educational environment possessing a customer-oriented and service-centered attitude.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: SEDENTARY WORK - involves mainly sitting; minimal walking and standing; lifting light weight objects limited to 15 pounds.
