Job Summary/Basic Function
The Botany Teaching Assistant (TA) will serve as instructional apprentice under the guidance and supervision of a faculty member. The specific duties of the TA will depend on the nature of the course/lab to which the TA is assigned and the support needs of the department as a whole. Duties may include assisting with course preparation, instructional support in labs and/or fieldwork (including guiding students in best practices and safety), leading review sessions and discussions, mentoring independent projects and assisting with grading.
This position is 50/50 eligible, student must be enrolled full-time and have at least a 2.0 GPA in order to qualify.

Required Qualifications
Has completed the class in need of a TA with a B or better grade (Contact Sonya Welsh [email protected] to inquire which class is currently seeking a TA). Approval of the course instructor. Current major in the college of science.
Preferred Qualifications
Botany major. Previous experience in teaching such as tutoring.
