Position Summary
Assist with the day-to-day operations of the Student Learning Centers. Assist students and instructors by providing administrative and clerical customer service oriented staff support to the Writing Tutoring Center (WTC), Math Advising Resource Center (MARC), the Business Education Center (BEC) and the Supplemental Instruction Program (SI Mentors and Leaders). This position reports to the Director of the Math Advising Resource Center (MARC) and Business Education Center (BEC).

Essential Functions
- Provide excellent customer service, greeting students and instructors and maintaining a professional, friendly environment.
- Help students to access on-line instructional tools.
- Answer the phone in a professional, courteous manner.
- Participate in tutor training, including staff meetings and/or workshops to improve/retain skills.
- Check email and other correspondence from head staff daily and reply as necessary.
- Assist head staff with special projects (generating content, creating handouts and other materials, assist with data collection, etc.) to contribute to the growth and enhancement of the center's programs.
- Follow all policies and procedures for the department.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Currently an enrolled student.
- Clerical and customer service experience.
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets and Power Point.
- Experience working in an academic setting.
- Experience working with at-risk or underrepresented students and/or adult learners.
- Successfully pass a criminal history background check prior to employment.
- Regular and predictable attendance.
- Excellent customer service skills; including building and maintaining internal/external customer satisfaction and the ability to problem solve.
- Fluency in technology, including experience with Word, Excel, Power Point, and Onedrive.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of departmental and student records.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- An appreciation of diversity and the benefits of a commitment to cultural awareness and sensitivity in the workplace.
- Ethics, Integrity, and sound professional judgment.
- Polite telephone etiquette.
- Become familiar with campus resources and policies, campus mail, and Outlook.
- Excellent customer service, oral, written skills and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to follow directions and meet the demands of the department.
- Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking.

This is part-time hourly position is bound by the provisions above and is scheduled to work varied hours during the weekday afternoons and early evenings, up to 16 hours per week. The salary is $16.00 - $16.00 per hour. Flexibility in scheduling is required to meet department needs. A collective bargaining agreement exists and membership in the Washington Federation of State Employees or payment of a service fee may available upon employment. TCC Part-time hourly and student employees including work study students, will accrue one hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked. Hourly non-student employees may be applicable for comprehensive health care benefits package for you and your dependents includes medical, dental and vision insurance.
