Summary of Job Duties: (Grant-Funded) The TRiO SSS Director will develop and direct the program in accordance with rules and regulations of the Department of Education. The director is responsible for the overall direction of the project and coordinating the activities of the program.

REPORTS TO: Vice Chancellor for Student Services
SUPERVISES: Student Support Services Staff

Recruit and recommend persons for employment
Develop, disseminate and administer the rules, regulations, and guidelines of the project
Develop staff training activities
Schedule and attend meetings/conferences
Make final selection of participants
Supervise and evaluate staff
Assist staff team with coordination of tutoring and other academic programs
Provide effective management of the budget
Coordinate the development and completion of the evaluation process
Monitor and prepare records and reports
Supervise the selection, and purchase of supplies and equipment
Coordinate the development and maintenance of all TRiO SSS forms

Qualifications:

A master?s degree in education, administration, counseling, college student personnel services, or a related field is required; a minimum of three years of experience in higher education with direct work experience with disadvantaged and diverse student populations; experience in program and curriculum development; budgetary experience; supervisory experience; and strong written and oral communication skills. Preference will be given to individuals who can personally relate to the background of low-income and first-generation students.

Additional Information:

Some evening hours and travel between the college campus and the school districts.

Work extended hours during special events

Salary Information: $45,000-$55,000
