Position Overview The Impact Coach supports City Year AmeriCorps members and Impact Managers in achieving student outcome results. This person is responsible for partnering with the Learning, Development & Evaluations team, Data and Analytics team, Impact Directors, and Impact Managers to coach a specific group of AmeriCorps Members throughout all aspects of their attendance, SEL and course performance work. This includes managing a portfolio of up to six school teams and coaching up to 30 AmeriCorps members per quarter. In addition, the Impact Coach is responsible for creating and improving Whole School Whole Child implementation tools.



Job Description



Each program year, the Impact Coach will ensure student level success by:



Supporting student level impact through coaching and intervention support



Partner with Learning & Development team to provide one-on-one and team-level academic intervention training and support to Corps members.



Provide focused support to help Corps members deliver quality tutoring for their students to help improve grades, complete homework, and organize for success in school.



Conduct monthly Observation & Coaching Sessions for ACMs in portfolio of schools



Work with Impact Managers to develop a team level needs assessment that supports in identifying ACMs academic comfort levels, training needs and ACMs needing more one-on-one support in planning and facilitating interventions



Execute an annual observation and coaching plan:



Quarter 1: Observe all Corps members at assigned schools



Quarter 2: With Impact Manager develop a list of 15 ?Coaching Cycle? ACMs across 5-6 assigned schools; support Impact Managers with co-observations of additional ACMs as needed



Quarter 3: With Impact Manager assess ?Coaching Cycle? ACMs and update list of ACMs receiving additional support as needed; support Impact Managers with co-observations of additional ACMs as needed



Quarter 4: With Impact Manager assess ?Coaching Cycle? ACMs and update list of ACMs receiving additional support as needed; support Impact Managers with co-observations of additional ACMs as needed



Support overall service at City Year Tulsa:



Partner with Learning, Development and Evaluation team to facilitate monthly Impact conversation to review student outcomes, intervention trends and additional areas to work on



Partner with Analytics Manager and Learning & Development Manager to train AmeriCorps Members in understanding and utilizing assessment scores and incorporating that information into lesson planning.



Assist Impact Team in diagnosing service implementation gaps and recommend solutions by observing service and reviewing data.



Work with Learning, Development & Evaluation team, Impact Directors, and the Impact Team to create and facilitate service-based learning and development sessions throughout the fiscal year.



Additional Responsibilities



Full Partnership with All City Year Initiatives: Partner with all City Year departments to effectively communicate required participation of Staff and Corps Members to meet team assigned quarterly goals. Work with a cross functional multi-departmental team including, Evaluation, Impact, Development, Operations, and HQ Learning & Development



Qualifications



Experience in education (or related field) required



2+ years of teaching and/or instructional coaching experience OR Experience with adult learning (supervising student teachers, facilitating professional development or study groups at school or other organization) required



Knowledge of general curriculum (literacy and math, particularly) and assessments



Demonstrated success in differentiating instruction and improving student achievement



Knowledge of standards-based assessments and data-driven instruction a must



Additional Qualities Needed



Strong attention to detail and proven organizational and project management skills.



Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.



Interested in advancing educational equity with responsible and creative intervention practices



Ability to link organizational mission to individual work, and support development and implementation of departmental or program strategy.



Belief in the value of providing consistent, accurate and real-time data to all levels of the organization to drive outcomes and build evaluation capacity of the organization



Ability to work in a fast paced and diverse environment.



Strong self-starter, able to work well independently and as a team member.

Experience with and commitment to community service and the development of young people as leaders.
