The Robinson Center (RC) is seeking candidates to teach classes for highly interested and motivated students in the The quarterly program will serve students currently in the K-8th grade. This position involves curriculum development, class instruction, supervision of a teaching assistant, and working with the Robinson Center staff on activities related to dissemination.
Each quarter runs for 8 weeks, and instructors can teach up to 3 hour-long courses a quarter. Each class runs for 50 minutes for 8 consecutive Saturdays, with class times at 9am, 10am, and/or 11am. Instructors are budgeted for one hour of planning time per hour of teaching time. There is a required, paid orientation on campus before the start of classes.
2023-24 Saturday Dates:
Fall Quarter: Sept. 30 - Nov. 18
Winter Quarter: Jan. 20 - Mar. 16 (no class 2/17)
Spring Quarter: Mar. 30 - May 18
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Instruction & Course Administration - 100%
- Course development and instruction;
- Preparation of course materials, syllabi, lectures and presentations. Some of these will be kept on file at the Robinson Center for dissemination with teacher consent as appropriate;
- Preparation of student assessments to monitor student progress;
- Class preparation time as required;
- Communication with students and families;
- Collaboration with the Robinson Center Staff on dissemination of class activities;
- Other duties as needed.
- Master's degree in subject matter;
- At least two years teaching experience;
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Able to attend all class sessions and staff orientation;
- The ability to work collaboratively with staff and students at the Robinson Center.
- Must be available for all Saturday class dates for the quarter being applied to.
- Experience teaching academically advanced K-8th grade students.
