JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State New Kensington invites applications for a Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor in Biology, multi-year non-tenure line appointment, 36 weeks to begin August 2024, or as negotiated.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include teaching a range of introductory undergraduate lecture and lab courses in anatomy, physiology, microbiology and related areas as determined by campus needs. The position requires commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered, multidisciplinary environment, and interest in active and collaborative learning and the instructional use of technology. Teaching assignments may include evening classes and online/hybrid instruction. Remain current in the field through appropriate professional development activities. Participate in professional organizations and in course, curriculum, and program development. Advise students to provide academic and career guidance. Participate in campus, university, and community service activities.

Qualifications:

A master?s degree in Biology or a closely related discipline is required for appointment at the level of Lecturer, a completed PhD is required for appointment at the level of Assistant Teaching Professor. A minimum of two years prior college-level teaching experience in first- and second-year anatomy and physiology lecture and lab courses is required.
