Job description: Provides technical support for computer, servers, cloud services, designated technology equipment, and information technology for district wide technology implementations; provides technical assistance to field support staff, as well as district employees; with focus physical security, infrastructure cabling, and display devices.
Performance Responsibilities
The primary function of an employee in this position is to perform a variety of technical tasks in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of I.T. infrastructure. cabling, display devices, access control, security cameras, digital clocks, bells, speakers, pagers, copper and fiber infrastructure. The work is performed under the supervision of the I Deputy Chief Technology Officer and Chief Technology Officer, with latitude granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative. The primary duties of this position are performed in a general office and classroom environment. Driving to and from various district locations may be required.
Essential Duties
- ? Respond to Help Desk requests involving hardware and software issues.
- ? Manage large scale construction projects specifically dealing with IT infrastructure, including access control, surveillance cameras, classroom technology, and data cabling.
- ? Oversees administration of IP devices and severs dealing with physical security and safety.

- Document Cameras
- ? Administer, create documentation and train schools on various systems.
- ? Coordinate install, manage and train on school security systems.
- ? Coordinate and manage access control for all district buildings. Including all employees and students.
- ? Work with Cisco IP Phone system for use in emergency alerting, door paging, and event monitoring such as 911 calls
- ? Responsible for physical connections, network connections and supporting servers including but not limited to security cameras, access control, paging systems, alerting systems, monitoring systems
- ? Basic operation of Cisco command line interface.
- ? Understanding of Meraki switches and access points in the way they relate to the team being able to support devices they oversee.
- ? Provides technical support to district field support technicians.
- ? Work with senior support staff to maintain infrastructure servers and district network infrastructure.
- ? Configures and maintains systems infrastructure.
- ? Troubleshoots system and user problems and performs repairs and modifications and updates.
- ? Install, configure and maintain district uninterruptible power supplies (UPS)
- ? Supporting interactive white boards, projectors, display devices, and tv?s
- ? Keep records of all users' problems and errors as well as the steps taken to solve the problems;
- ? Administers user access by adding, modifying or deleting user access levels as needed;
- ? Analyzes school needs and user requests for program changes, bug fixes, system enhancements and new programs;
- ? Works with various stakeholders to find, implement and maintain systems that pertain the infrastructure team.
- ? Performs all work duties and activities in accordance with District policies, procedures, and safety practices;
- ? Performs other related duties as required.
Knowledge of:
- ? Security systems such as access control and security cameras
- ? Knowledge of IP clock, bells, speakers
- ? Network Cabling installation and troubleshooting.
- ? Windows Server
- ? VmWare
- ? Personal computer hardware and software, operating systems, networking and server systems, and related systems.
- ? Ethernet networks, switches, routers, WAN?s and LAN?s voice over IP, and servers;
- ? Core systems experience with directory services, DHCP, DNS, databases,
- ? Installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of operating systems, networks and programs on personal computers.
- ? Cloud based administration
- ? Collaborative working strategies to facilitate team/group processes.
- ? Follow written and oral instructions;
- ? Analyze complex computer systems, identify problems and develop and implement logical conclusions and effective solutions;

- ? High school diploma or GED equivalency;
- ? College degree in computer science, systems science, math, management information systems, or engineering (preferred);
- ? Experience administering computer network systems;
- ? Relevant current industry certifications.
- ? Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work;
- ? Experience working with structured cabling.
- ? Valid Idaho Driver?s License.
- ? Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing or other communication capabilities, with or without reasonable accommodation, which permits the employee to discern verbal instructions, use a telephone, and communicate with other employees and the public;
