The Teaching and Learning Center (TLC) partners with all members of the education community to create meaningful, innovative, and evidence-based learning experiences. It supports teaching and learning across OHSU's academic programs through pedagogical practice, online course design, assessment, course evaluations, digital accessibility, and academic technology to improve learning engagement.
Function/Duties of Position
- Design, develop, and support online learning by collaborating with instructors to develop course sites for the SON.
- Collaborate with faculty to facilitate student learning through state-of-the-art instructional practices and appropriate technology use.
- Design, develop, and deliver workshops that introduce faculty to effective pedagogical practices that support teaching.
- Provide consultations and assist in the development of learning goals and instructional strategies
- Support educators by sharing research findings on best practices of instructional technology use to enhance student learning in all instructional modes
- Guide and assist faculty in special request course design or redesign requests.
- Serve and contribute to appropriate committees and working groups.
- Contribute to scholarship (presentations, written work, and other forms).
- Collaborate with team members in the TLC for programming and services supporting exemplary instruction and for compiling and developing related resources.
- Provide administrative and technical support for relevant technology supporting student learning.
Master?s degree in Education or related field with a preferred emphasis on instructional technology, instructional deign, and/or online teaching and learning.
Minimum three years of related work experience.
Documented teaching or training experience, preferably in higher education.
Proficiency with learning management systems and other technologies that support learning.
Organizational and time management skills to establish and pursue priorities and goals consistent with program mission; work on multiple projects simultaneously; and set and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to adapt and solve problems proactively and creatively.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, appropriate for working collaboratively with multiple university stakeholders, toward positive student outcomes through evidence-based instructional support.
Demonstrated commitment to quality and innovation to enhance teaching and learning.
Demonstrated experience conducting workshop/training sessions for professionals.
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering an equitable and inclusive faculty, staff, and student environment, and commitment to do so as a faculty member at the university.
Demonstrated understanding of learning theories.
