Job description: Introduction
Under supervision, provides program support for the literacy program in the areas of adult literacy training and tutoring, and performs related duties as required for the Literacy For Every Adult Program (LEAP). Persons selected for this position will provide small group and or one-on-one instruction to adults who are preparing for GED (General Educational Development) exams.
Position Description and Duties
The Learner Coordinator will provide instruction to adults on basic math skills, and test-taking strategies, create lesson plans, and utilize various curriculum resources that reflect the culturally diverse, backgrounds of the adult learners served.
The Learner Coordinator may be assigned to more than one site and must be available to travel to sites, as needed. Some weekend and evening work will be required. This is a part-time, temporary grant-funded position with no benefits.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
A combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in education, social services or a related field; OR High school graduation or the equivalent supplemented by two (2) years of full-time attendance at a college or university with major coursework in education, social services or a related area.
AND two (2) years of full-time work experience working with adults with literacy problems;
OR Any combination of training and experience equivalent to four (4) years in the field of adult literacy.

The City's is that all persons hired on or after October 18, 2021, must be fully vaccinated, including the booster, for COVID-19.
