Job description: Lake Forest Community High School District 115 is seeking a MTSS Math Interventionist for the 2023-2024 SY.

Description: The MTSS Resource Interventionists for Math, Science, English Language Learners and the Humanities supervises and supports students and staff needs in a Resource Center. The interventionists work with students individually or in small groups to solidify and deepen concepts students are learning in class. The interventionist is responsible for greeting, directing and supporting students, reteaching students, collecting/maintaining accurate attendance and use, student tracking/data, resource supply management, supporting staff and volunteer tutors assigned to the Resource Center, MTSS/RtI reporting, maintaining a clean, productive and welcoming environment, working/collaborating with study hall supervisors and designated building administrators.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop, document , maintain ongoing academic plans (Individual Student Growth and learning plans) and behavioral intervention plans
  • Become fluent with Powerschool and Schoology
  • Access student academic records as needed
  • Facilitate the development of a departmental assessment calendar with Instructional Directors and teacher
  • Oversee re-assessments and provide interventions that will be progress-monitored over a period of time
  • Coordinate peer tutoring supports as needed
  • Meet during teacher collaboration time with course-alike MTSS team
  • Maintain and update the database that identifies students to receive MTSS support and the results of the interventions provided
  • Support homework completion
  • Create homework plans in conjunction with parents
  • Facilitate home-school communication loop
  • Facilitate goal-writing throughout the year for identified students
  • Collect evidence and report academic progress to academic teams when appropriate
  • Provide supplemental instruction (one-on-one, in small groups)
  • Assist with student in enrollment in summer or after school programs

  • Reteaches lessons or parts of lessons as needed
  • Communicates with MTSS director and faculty regarding student progress and results

  • Demonstrates a commitment to professional growth through reflection and collaboration
  • Participates in regularly scheduled professional development training
  • Observe classrooms to increase curricular knowledge
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned by direct supervisor

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and reach. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, pull, and lift. Repetitive motions are required. The employee must lift and/or move up to 10 pounds of force frequently. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly subject to inside environmental conditions and is subject to noises associated with both office and educational environments.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor?s Degree in specific area (Math, Science, English Lit/Writing)- required
  • Illinois Paraprofessional License - required
  • Professional Educator License - preferred
  • Prior experience tutoring students in the relevant content area, across all topics - preferred
  • Experience with office and school-based management systems - preferred
2023-2024 SY Starting Rate: $24.00
