Job description: Concordia University Chicago (CUC) invites applications for a full-time core faculty position for the graduate Counseling Education Program in the Division of Social Sciences and Human Services, located in River Forest, IL. This position coordinates with the departmental leadership in monitoring course learning objectives, interacting with students and adjuncts, pursuing the maintenance of accreditation standards, and providing direct instructions to students in courses and practicum/internships.

Responsibilities/Duties:
  • Assists students in practicum and internship courses in coordination with K-12 schools and/or community agencies in order to ensure a solid growth experience
  • Provides instruction, both face to face and on-line, to graduate students involved in the graduate Counselor Education program
  • Tracks student learning outcomes in compliance with accreditation standards
  • Participates in University wide committees and activities to further the mission of CUC

Skill Sets:
  • Strong administrative skills, including related computer and technology skills
  • Superior verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills across institutional units with faculty, staff, and senior leaders

  • A record of successful teaching, scholarship, and service at the program or university level
  • The ability to challenge, motivate and encourage students to high levels of academic and personal success
Minimum Experience Required:
  • 2-4 years' experience in a K-12 academic environment as a school counselor or clinical mental health counselor
Education Requirements:
  • Doctoral degree from an accredited CACREP program in counselor education required
  • Undergraduate certification or colloquy completion as a professional church worker in the LCMS is preferred
