Job description: The Early Childhood Program Outreach and Transition Coordinator assists the Early Intervention Services team, ASD Preschool leadership, related services providers, and teachers in promoting quality Child Find and early childhood transitions within the Anchorage School District and community. The position has a retirement association with the Public Employees? Retirement System (PERS).



Job Requirements

The following are required: * A bachelor?s degree in early childhood education, elementary education, or a related field; or a minimum of three years of experience in early childhood education or a related field.


  • Knowledge of or experience with software collaboration tools such as Google Drive, PowerSchool, Adobe Pro, Panda Docs, and Zoom.

The following are preferred: * Knowledge of special education regulations and the early childhood transition process.

  • Knowledge of ASD Preschool programs.

  • Knowledge of Childfind regulations.

  • Knowledge of early childhood screenings.

  • Ability to communicate with partner agencies, families, and ASD Early Intervention.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Essential Job Functions * Attends 90 day transition meetings as the ASD representative.

  • Facilitates applications coming from ILP. Communicates with providers and families about any needed file components.

  • Attends community fairs and activities to promote Childfind across Anchorage.

  • Support the EISC and special education department in Childfind communications and outreach.

Physical /Mental Demands

The physical demands of this job require frequent standing, walking, sitting, speaking and hearing. Specific visual abilities are also required. The employee is regularly required to reach with his/her hands and arms and occasionally lift items weighing less than 40 lbs. Additionally, the employee must be able to understand vague and implicit instructions, be able to readily recall facts and details, handle conflict and make effective decisions under pressure. The employee must have the ability to effectively manage the stress of working with students, parents, and other employees representing diverse cultures, personalities, and work styles in a dynamic work environment.

Work is performed in a professional environment with a wide variety of individuals having differing functions, personalities and abilities, including working with diverse groups of people in a variety of different settings.



While performing the duties of this job the employee may be regularly exposed to a video display. The employee may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
