Position Summary

The Department of Management and Marketing at Indiana University South Bend invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Management with a focus on strategic management.

The teaching load will include undergraduate and/or graduate courses in strategic management, entrepreneurship, or other management courses. IU South Bend faculty members are expected to teach twelve credit hours each fall and spring at 100% FTE. Tenure track faculty receive 25% FTE reassigned time pre-tenure to engage in scholarly and creative activity. Tenured faculty members may request continued reassigned time through established protocols and procedures. Faculty may be required to teach online, on alternate schedules (evenings/weekends), and/or at our campus center in Elkhart. The successful applicant will be expected to participate in university service activities, such as attending and participating in faculty meetings and serving on relevant committees. United States citizenship or lawful permanent residence status is required for tenure.

Basic Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A doctorate from an AACSB-accredited school in strategic management or a closely related field; Advanced ABD candidates considered with evidence that the doctoral degree is expected to be awarded within 12 months of hiring.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and research in strategic management or other management courses (as evidenced by teaching evaluations and research outputs).
  • Demonstrated success working with diverse faculty and student populations
