At Walden University, we strive to meet the evolving needs of our diverse learners. We are seeking a new team member for the position of Specialist, Undergraduate Support. This position is located within OASIS, Walden's departmental hub for academic support services. We are looking for an innovative, flexible, and forward-thinking team member to join us
Responsibilities
- Participation in collaborative projects and initiatives across teams
- Participation in providing high-quality instructional services, such as tutoring, webinars, writing support, etc.
- Participation in the thoughtful, student-centered design of curriculum, instruction, and support
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards
- Master's Degree Master's degree required. Required
- 5 years experience working within a diverse educational environment. Required
- 3 years experience providing instruction, tutoring, or other student support. Required
- 2 years experience teaching and/or learning in online learning management systems (such as Blackboard, Canvas, etc.). Preferred
- Excellent organizational, communication, and team participation skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with diverse and/or underserved student populations
- Ability to work with individuals from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.
- Experience and/or training in curriculum design or development.
- Prior experience planning and leading live instructional events.
- Experience collaborating with others in projects and initiatives
- Technical savviness using virtual communication tools and online platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc.
- Experience using online learning platforms such as Blackboard, Canvas, etc.
- Adaptable to new responsibilities and initiatives.
- Experience in providing detail-oriented support, such as editing or publication-related skills.
- Ability to work independently, and to collaborate in teams.
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $47,766.34 and $86,253.75. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
