Job Summary



The College of Media, Communications and Information invites applications for two full-time faculty instructor positions within the Department of Advertising, Public Relations, and Media Design. Successful applicants will teach three courses per semester and support the ongoing development of our Bachelor of Science in Strategic Communication curriculum. These positions also require a service obligation to the department and/or college that successful candidates will determine in consultation with the department chair of APRD. Successful candidates will be expected to maintain relationships with the advertising and public relations industries and generate opportunities for students to meet professionals. They may also help the department develop and oversee student participation in advertising and public relations awards and our student involvement in professional associations.



We are looking for visionary instructors who can help us to continue to build our national reputation for our Advertising Strategy, Creative/Media Design, and Public Relations tracks in Strategic Communication. Applicants should have demonstrated experience and expertise in at least one of these areas. Moreover, a willingness to advance our commitment to campus, college, and unit-level justice, diversity, and equity efforts is highly desirable. These are three-year positions, with the potential for renewal, with a start date of Spring 2024.

The salary range for this position is $70,000-$75,000 and includes CU Boulder's excellent benefits package.

What We Require



  • Experience teaching at the university level, including proven evidence of teaching quality.

  • Experience developing communications strategies for nationally or internationally recognized organizations, corporations and/or brands.

  • Experience working with senior management.

  • Experience conducting primary qualitative and quantitative research.

  • A master's degree in strategic communication, public relations, advertising or closely aligned field.
