ABOUT THE ROLE
Fullstack Academy Instructors scale their impact as a Product Management professional by training the next generation of Product Managers. In this role, you?ll create dynamic learning experiences through deployment of instructional best practices that are student-centered and designed to meet the needs of adult learners. You?ll co-facilitate lessons from the curriculum and will serve as subject matter expert to students and staff. You will support students through exercises designed to build knowledge and skills and promote grit, problem-solving and a collaborative learning community. Ultimately, you will prepare students for the next chapter in their lives as they seek employment in the Product Management field.
Fullstack Academy is excited to extend our reach and the impact of our mission internationally through a partnership with the Saudi Digital Academy (SDA). The SDA is a key national initiative by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) of Saudi Arabia, which aims to develop human capital and the digital capabilities of Saudi youth. In response to Saudi tech employers calling for more practically prepared talent, the SDA is partnering with Fullstack Academy to address the need via our bootcamp model.
LOGISTICS
This is a contract role and requires an ability to lead class from 9:00a.m. -5:00 p.m. Riyadh Time to support students in a face-to-face synchronous online class experience. Candidates can reside anywhere globally where they have reliable internet and are able to commit to the following schedule requirements.
The contract spans 15 weeks:
- Instructor on-boarding to Fullstack Academy Jan 2-8. This segment of training requires availability from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. Central Time.
- SDA training and lesson planning January 10-13
- 3 days cohort preparation and student orientation on location January 14-16
- 12 weeks of bootcamp instruction from January 17- April 9, 2024
- Classes meet from Sunday-Thursday 9:00-5:00 Riyadh Time
- Classes will be taught in English - knowledge of Arabic is not required
- The teaching team will consist of two instructor and a Mentor (teaching assistant)
- US holidays that fall during the bootcamp will not be recognized
- Saudi Arabia holidays that fall during the bootcamp will be recognized
INSTRUCTOR RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will:
- Create a positive, professional and inclusive learning environment, by:
- Teaching lessons in accordance with learning objectives and fidelity to session plans provided by Fullstack
- Employing strategies known to meet the needs of adult learners, including leveraging tech tools, instructional best practices and connecting content to the real world by sharing industry insights and professional experiences
- Managing regular communication with students and support teams to align on progress, expectations, celebrate milestones and address concern areas
- Providing individualized student support during synchronous class sessions and outside class synchronously during office hours and asynchronously through timely communication
- Evaluate student performance and progression toward competencies based on course deliverables and course rubrics, by:
- Providing constructive and timely feedback to students in the cohort, escalating concerns in a timely manner to the support teams
- Assisting in the management of Academic Plans for Success for individual students who need additional support
- Serve as role model for students and as an ambassador for our brands, by:
- Exhibiting professionalism and an ethical and empathetic approach when engaging with Fullstack staff, students, and the public
- Promoting student retention and amplify student satisfaction by creating a positive classroom culture, communicating timely with students and leveraging effective interventions and sharing of resources
- Encouraging teamwork and seeking feedback for continuous improvement
Eligibility requires the following:
- Minimum one or more of the following
- Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field such as Project Management
- OR minimum three years of experience as a project manager, product manager, associate product manager, or any product management related role
- AND prior experience teaching or mentoring in an informal capacity
- Preferential consideration will be given to candidates with the following experience:
- Bachelor?s Degree in any field with transcript evidence of successful completion of 12 credit hours of computer science, mathematics or science AND minimum one year of professional experience as a project manager, product manager, associate product manager, or any product management related role
- OR Bachelor?s Degree in any field AND minimum three years of professional experience as a project manager, product manager, associate product manager, or any product management related role
- OR a minimum of five years of professional experience as a project manager, product manager, associate product manager, or any product management related role
- AND prior experience teaching or mentoring in a formal capacity
Contract includes compensation for: Onboarding, live instruction, and a generous bonus.
