Job description: The at the University of Chicago invites applications for an open-rank tenure-track position in Composition of electronic or computer music with an expected start date of July 1, 2024, or as soon as possible thereafter. The selected candidate will be appointed at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor commensurate with experience and qualifications. The position includes creative progress, a standard teaching load of four courses per year at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as usual advising and service requirements.
Qualifications
We seek a composer with an active creative and performance profile in the areas of electronic and/or computer music who can also contribute to building the composition program and has the potential to take on leadership roles. Applicants must also have professional experience that demonstrates the ability to be an effective teacher and mentor at the University. A terminal degree in composition or a related field is required, or experience working in a college or university context.
