About the Position:

We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the Fieldwork Coordinator - Department of Human Services (Student Services Professional II - Non-Exempt). The Fieldwork Coordinator, Department of Human Services organizes and maintains the fieldwork office for the Department of Human Services. Supports fieldwork students and faculty teaching required fieldwork/internship courses for human services by assisting with securing sites, virtually visiting sites, assessing the value of the sites, and updating required forms and information for Center for Internships and Community Engagement (CICE). Trains and supervises fieldwork interns to assist with student appointments, organizing paperwork related to fieldwork placements, and assisting the Human Services Student Association (HSSA) in the organization of each semester's Fieldwork Day/Agency Orientation on campus with approved agency representatives. Other duties as assigned.



Essential Qualifications



Bachelor's degree or the equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public administration, business administration or a job-related field and two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or a related field. A master's degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of professional experience. Additional specialized and relevant experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.



General knowledge of the methods and problems of organizational management, research, and interview techniques. Interpret and apply program rules and regulations, obtain factual and interpretative information through interviews, and advise students individually and in groups on complex student-related matters. Reason logically and use initiative in planning work assignments and in implementing long-range program improvements. Plan, develop, coordinate, supervise, and organize programs and activities. Interact with a diverse student population, faculty, staff, and the public. Analyze complex situations accurately and adopt effective courses of action. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a variety of individuals. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to acquire knowledge of campus procedures, activities, and of the overall organization.



A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.



Preferred Qualifications



Ability to input data into a computer and basic computer skills such as the use of MS Office, CANVAS, Zoom, and minor web creation. Computer skills such as presentation graphics, database management. Tactfulness, human relations, problem-solving, conflict management skills to interact with students, faculty, and community agencies. Motivation, initiative, and strong organizational communication skills. Knowledge of career opportunities in the field of human services. Previous experience in university-community relations and/or organization of fieldwork activities.



License/Certifications



Valid California Driver's License. Reliable source of transportation to attend events and conduct site visits, as needed.
