Reports to: Director of Curriculum, Assessment and Instruction

Job Goal: The school district Data Coordinator ensures the integrity of the school district data and makes the data accessible to district administration, staff, state and federal officials and the community as required.

Performance Responsibilities:
1. Serves as the district?s SIS (student information system) administrator.
2. Coordinates data entry, data maintenance and data correction in district information systems for State reporting.
3. Ensures integrity of data, verifies information regarding data quality and data completeness.
4. Supports staff with the district?s Student Information System as well as the Information Management System (IMS).
5. Identifies and resolves any data issues resulting within the district data systems.
6. Collaborates with SIS vendor with regards to changes and customizations to the SIS.
7. Trains and supports staff in using aspects of the SIS for grading and posting to the parent/student portal.
8. Assists with school scheduling, enrollment, attendance and other issues within the SIS.
9. Develops data standards, procedures and training for district staff members.
10. Develops and maintains documentation of data systems, standards and procedures.
11. Produces data reports as requested by administration.
12. Reviews IMS for redundancies within data systems and the technical structure.
13. Reviews current district program usage and contracts for continuation of services.
14. Assists with federal and state reporting of school district data including exporting and uploading to external systems.
15. Participates in training to remain current on data sources, data analysis techniques and strategies for developing and conducting presentations.
16. Acts as NJ Homeroom Administrator and NJ Smart Administrator.
17. Collaborates with school district staff members to design and document processes to be followed districtwide.
18. Communicates clearly, concisely and effectively with the administrative staff, professional and support staff, students, parents and the community.
19. Performs related tasks as needed.

Terms of Employment: Twelve months.
