The fund has served more than 20,000 students in 150 school districts through summer-school services, afterschool programs, and partnerships in California and Arizona. The Education Fund aims to build an educational enterprise that will impact one million students by 2028 and help transform the education system so that all Latinos, working families, and their children can experience high-quality learning. Students and their families will thrive and engage in their communities. A newfound pride, confidence and well-rounded preparation for participating students will create future leaders, giving true meaning to the phrase ordinary people doing extraordinary things .
Once social change begins it cannot be reversed. You cannot un-educate the person who has learned to read. You cannot humiliate the person who feels pride. You cannot oppress the people who are not afraid anymore. -Cesar Chavez
